Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars - Addition of 6 new comics characters to Phase 2. News release

Six additional sculptures of local comic characters will be installed in the world’s first comic-themed avenue of comic stars –

“Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars" (Avenue) as one of the highlights of its Phase 2 to further promote Hong Kong’s comic culture and attract visitors.

 

The six additional comic characters are selected by a Selection Panel formed by industry professionals and representatives of relevant organisations

from the valid nominations of local comic characters debuted on or after 1 January 2000, with a view to promoting local aspiring comic artists.

 

These six new characters will be presented in painted sculptures of 1.5 in height, alongside the existing 24 sculptures

installed in Phase 1 of the Avenue, starting from early 2016.

The Phase 2 project will also cover the renovation of existing 24 sculptures and installation of cute figurines of all 30 existing

and new comic characters at Kowloon Park’s entrance near Park Lane Shopper's Boulevard.
