Phase 2 Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars Phase 2 will be held at 2-3pm on 30th January, 2016 (Saturday) at eastern side loggia of Kowloon Park. 

Hong Kong Comics & Animation Federation (HKCAF) invited Mr. Gregory SO Kam-leung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR to be the officiating guest. Mr. Chris IP Ngo Tung, Chairman of Yau Tsim Mong District Council, Mrs. Janet CHU, Assistant Head of Create Hong Kong of the Government of Hong Kong SAR, Mrs Agnes Mak Tang Pik-yee, MH, JP, Executive Director of Hong Kong Productivity Council and the selected new comic artists for Phase 2 Project including Bigsoil, Cuson Lo, Felix Ip, Szeto Kim Kiu and Keung Chi Kit are also invited as officiating guests. Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars will be officially open to the public after ceremony.


The display period of Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars Phase 2 is three year. Not only 24 local comic character sculptures and 10 bronze handprints of distinguished local comic artists, but also the 6 new painted local comic character sculptures will be displayed. These new characters are originally debuted by local comic artists after year 2000. Furthermore, cute version of comic character sculptures will be displayed at Kowloon Park’s entrance near Park Lane Shopper's Boulevard so as to provide a better experience for citizens and tourists. A 12 meters- long wall painting with all 30 characters named "Comic Wall of Stars" will be displayed to show the flourishing scene of Comic Industry in Hong Kong. The sculptures will give citizens a brand new image of local comic characters.
