Lee Wai-chun is an outstanding comic artist in Hong Kong. She started comics creation back in the 1960s and the Miss 13 Dots published in 1966 immediately becomes a classic comic of all times and also pioneered in the trend of comics for female readers. It captures the hearts of all in the 1960s – 80s in Hong Kong and all over the world.
The heroine character Miss 13 Dots is self- sufficient, independent, always avant-garde with righteousness with a call to break away from the lowly social status of women in those years. Coupled with the character’s fashionable wardrobe and a modern living style, the comic was eagerly and widely received and also led the local fashion trends in those years and enlightened a number of local high profile fashion gurus then.
